All-In-One-HDT + Modding question = Quick learning curve to catch up on modding immersiveness

Hi,

 

So I started modding Skyrim again after like 5 years or so. The All-in-one-HDT-animated-pussy installer was like the best thing in body-replacement back then. Gift from heaven. I was wondering how this holds up nowadays, and how it meshes with my Steam/SE edition.

Can someone of greater knowledge and wisdom exp-share me their pointers on getting the 'best' (read: compatible with non-adult mods) schmexy stuff?

I want to be able to 'immerse' like a true degenerate. Realism + Lore > Porn replacers ofc. 

 

I also read something about 'mod managers' being outdated?

And what was the whole thing going on about 'ESL''s or so, which now no longer cause the need for doing merging mods?

 

Any rundown's are welcome, as this will most likely significantly cut-down my re-learning curve.

I used to mod a lot like 5+ years ago, so I'm not 'blank'. Just dump single vowels on me if you don't feel like explaining in a wall-of-text.
