On the left side of Mod Organizer. Should Sexlab be under or above Papyrus? I haven't found a concrete answer to this. I am on Skyrim 1.6.640 AE.

SexLab 1.65 includes PapyrusUtils 4.4. Which is the latest version. So you can disable PapyrusUtils. It is redundant.

You have probably seen conflicting advice for question in the past. That's because the answer to this question can change when a new SexLab version comes out. Or a new version of PapyrusUtils. One of the people who helps maintain PapyrusUtils also maintains SexLab. So sometimes he updates the copy of PapyrusUtils inside SexLab. When this happens SexLab has an even newer version than what you can find on the Utils Nexus page. Thus SexLab should override Utils. But the opposite can also happen. When the other maintainers of PapyrusUtils release a newer version on the Nexus than what is included in SexLab. In this case Utils should override SexLab.

In summary: The latest version of PapyrusUtils is the one you want. Sometimes its included in SexLab and not available elsewhere. Sometimes it's the version that is on the Nexus. Right now they are identical. And you can confirm this by opening the SexLab 1.65 zip and navigating to scripts/source/PapyrusUtils.psc. If you open it in notepad you will see the following near the top.

int function GetScriptVersion() global
	return 44
endFunction

return 44 means SexLab includes PapyrusUtils v4.4. And as of right now that is the latest version. So you don't even need to install PapyrusUtils.
