So I am in Nuka world and... (spoilers!)

So I am on my guy hero playthrough.

I stopped with the realistic/immersive playthrough as a helpless beauty in sexual misadventures for now since it gets repetitive and eventually I go for ability perks which make me too strong with increase in level to believably surrender.

And then I do attacks and such and I figure I might as well play as a man.

So anyway in this playthrough am now a hero, not the damsel in distress anymore.

And I got one of the extra good armors in Nukaworld/ star something area.

I also agreed to Gage's proposal so I would not have to fight right then and there (most parts of my T60f armor were badly damaged)

But I am not really interested in helping the raiders in any way.

Even though I agreed ,... if I now leave, will Minutemen and the rest of the commonwealth still consider me a minuteman?

or will they think I am now a Raider  due to my agreement with gage? So was this a change in faction?

if so I will go back to an earlier save and not agree to gage's proposal and just fight my way past gage (though my armor is in poor shape due to what came before) and flee out of nukaworld town into the park area.

I know now where and how to get the best loot in the park.

(I think at least, actually I only been to the science fiction portion of the park ... so I guess there could be more...)

Do I need to go on a rampage here in order to keep the loyalty and respect of the minutemen and for the Commonwealth to not consider me a raider? ( i have a legendary melee weapon so I could do it and not worry about running out of ammo).

or can I just take off return to the commonwealth and still be seen as a minuteman hero?

I'm pretty sure that the only way to piss off the minutemen is to accept the NW raiders quests to raid settlements in the commonwealth. I also recommend doing the quests requiring you to clear all of the zones. There's a lot of cool content in there. You don't have to raise a faction flag in each zone if you're just going to wipe out the raiders anyway but at least clear the zones. A lot of fun stuff in Nuka World it would be a shame to miss.

Thank you!
that is exactly the input I needed :)

For me its new :)

I just starred playing this summer.

I have several playthroughs but so far I always stopped short of finishing the teleporter since I enjoy the early game feel and worry about finishing the game.

this is my first time in Nuka world.

I am glad I went it so well armed and leveled..

It took me 3 playthroughs to figure out how to fix power armor

and now I know how to upgrade it and I took the perks to do it.

I went in with a T60f (!) and it was just good enough.

So I am pretty sure I discovered the best loot of Nuka world at this point and the 2nd best loot and the 3rd best loot ( but I can only carry one item plus the most important parts of the 2nd)

Should I kill just the raider leaders?

I dont like the bloodshed of killing all raiders... but they are all quite evil and perhaps that would be ok too.

What with my armor and high end weapons and my level this is well within my abilities.

Would NPCs in the commonwealth hear about this?

how would this affect my notoriety if at all?

Also I combed over NUKA world and cleared the ZOO from gatorclaws, the western park from bloodworms, and turned off the Science fiction area's deadly robots.

I have yet to talk to any raider boss to get a quest to do any clearing.

Just been exploring the park in my powerarmor (first T60f and now something else)

I was worried the more I do my actual overboss job that the game will raider faction me.

But now that I partially cleared the park, it seems to me that I run into raiders patrols more often in the park.

And sometimes they are massacring "scavengers".

In other words normal people trying to survive.?

Will my gig be up if I intervene and save the scavs if I kill the entire raider patrol away from the main raider "society"? (I have the armor and legendary weaponry and level to do it with, I suspect, ease)

I am always happy to see signs of habitation in the valley (buses and nooks and crannies with minor supplies and a sleeping bags or mattresses if there are no corpses nearby.

It means some folks escaped the raiders and have found a way to avoid the parks threats.

Now that the parks threats are much less (I even removed all , I think, ghouls from Bradberton) the niches for people to avoid the raiders become probably ever smaller.

Also worried about that farming family in the park.

maybe I should put an end to the raiders sooner or later...

PS: I still have to finish clearing kiddie kingdom and the world of refreshment.. I am about halfway in both but they are so tedious... so I may not bother.

I could just take care of the raiders and head home , or just head home if the monorail still works.

PS2:This was a fun and interesting contrast to my first foray to Nuka world, when I used  a cheat to teleport myself early game as a girl in a short dress with nearly no armor or skill.

I tried to escape the raiders and never survived long in the park away from Nukatown ( despite having given myself ammo and a good gun with a cheat)

The Nuka World Raider boss method of settlement control is interesting if for nothing else it replaces the otherwise nigh required supply line perk(or the trader buildings in SSIM2), as the raider camp system includes supply lines by default.

Also, from my (warped) POV becoming the not-really-benevolent "hero" of the commonwealth in the overboss definitely makes you the villain to Preston Garvey, but also sets up a viable network of fortified settlements that protect other nearby settlements, instituting a much stronger method of protection against raiders than every farmer having a pipe pistol. (Or every camp having sentry bots to do the farming/guarding.)

And you can also pick up the absolutely fantastic Project Valkyrie from Nexus, which has potential vanilla story changes, spoiler for part of the mod story below:

Spoiler

Namely that it makes Preston an Enclave operative looking to rebuild the minutemen under the control of the Enclave.
So technically becoming a raider boss and ending him and his minutemen becomes a good thing.

Thanks

I think I will stay loyal to the minutemen and their Vanilla good cause.

The Raiders are the bad guys.

Did you see the stash or "trader" and "settler" corpses in the basement of hardware town?

Or all the heads they have on spikes?

They are bad.

Not sure how to to about to start open season.

Do I visit each raider boss and kill them and walk away?

Would that inititae combat with their entire gang ( not that I have to greatly fear it at my level, + armor + ammo state)

And if wouldnt the boss just be replaced?

I fear might have to kill all the raiders....
