"run away, run away" simulator / base defense

I've modded the game into a "run away, run away" / base defense simulator  ?

In my last game, I never made to Diamond City (by my own), defeated within seconds of enemy contact, sold off twice (gear still there) and got assaulted by Mayor Mcdwhatever to get free from *%$# handcuffs. (no auto health gen, surrender = 20% health, workbench removable damage = death).

Attacks on my base with 20+ raiders / supermutants were occurring about ever two days (got to adjust that) Ammo is an issue...

looked over the of a building to see where the enemies are.... headshot

running around a corner downtown from raiders....hear supermutant comment, immediatly downed by a single laser blast.

weather conditions suck. fog and low vis. (running a winter set until in game March.

Basically, it's one shot and done.  Headshots are a real pain (as they should be) even with helmets. More and larger raid spawns plus more random world spawns make even short trips dangerous.

I just downloaded an old mod to control lights (which needs a new start) so decided I needed to rethink my base design. Usually I use a small 4 rounded corners + four walls to make a four story tower with a second floor access, but grenade spam and mollys are getting me inside and even knock out my generators.  Plus the *&^% fire/bleed damage......:/

Also have upgrade to default turrets in the game. Nothing like running into your base like a little bitch and hear all your turrets get wrecked is seconds then looking through your weapon stash to see if anything will scratch the bastards and if you have any ammo for it...

Anyway, rant over.  I've decided to build a larger tower between Sanctuary and the Red Rocket and hopefully get the turrets a bit stronger, plus on wires so I can control when they're active.
