verynaughty690 Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) Do I need to have the skin/costume unlocked(via the gacha system, etc) to apply the mod to it or does the mod unlock the skin itself too ? I just downloaded the game and have no skins/costumes, I wasn't able find an answer on the thread, don't really have any idea of how all this works, sorry for newbie question Also, is there a private server hosting tool similar to Grasscutter for Genshin for DOAXVV ? zephusdragon Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 It depends. Costume Customizer (also known as CC) only requires one swimsuit which is really easy to get. The mod then uses a sub-gui to change to whatever you want. There are lots of mods that use CC. The other option is a swimsuit mod. This requires you to actually have the suit in question and will modify all versions of that suit on the same body type (if the suit isn't girl specific). The body types are Common, Honoka *Large boob girls*, and Marie *Small boob girls* In both cases you will need a nude body mod, either the Hi-Metal line or the Jenovate line. Also all mods require 3dMitogo and the current version of d3dx.ini for either DMM or Steam. The version that comes packed with 3dMigoto is out of date... There are other mods that change other things like shower demist, makeup mods, or even the owner room. If you want some simple swimwear mods I would start with Teddy's mods if you have Steam. There you can find mods for a good number of N and R suits to get you started and as you unlock more SR and SSR suits there are other places on the board to get those suits. To recap get 3dMigoto, follow install instructions, download a d3dx.ini file (Teddy has those too btw), then download swimwear mods and body mods. Once you have a look you like in game hit F10 or change the mods file if you are industrious *grin* and you off to the races.

For example - [SSR] (3rd Anniversary) Etoile Briller (STEAM/DMM) by teddy, does this require CC or Suit ? Also if I don't wanna spend money, how much of a grind am I looking at to get most of the characters and/or suits and most of the gravure vids ? Either way thanks for reply

For example - [SSR] (3rd Anniversary) Etoile Briller (STEAM/DMM) by teddy, does this require CC or Suit ? Teddy's mods are all suit based. Any mod that uses CC will say [CC] or [Costume Customizer]. Rule of thumb for modders. Teddy does Steam mostly with some DMM. Lunatic Dawn does mostly DMM but sometimes they work on Steam. SavageMoonBoy does mostly CC. Without spending money you can actually get fairly far. You just won't get a chance at Birthday dresses and the like. Basically the rule of thumb is only spend your V-Stones on Trendy rolls first, then if you feel like extra the past suits. Only roll a gatcha with a 5k stone roll. Never roll V-Stones on the Venus gatcha. The suits are not very good stat wise and you get them for free fairly commonly. I typically only spend on money when a girl I like has a birthday and once a month on the monthly pack. The best way to unlock a girl is to get any of their SSR suits. Since the current event has basically all the free girls in the trendy gatcha it's a roll which ones you get but at least you can (luck holding) unlock at least one girl. I managed to get 5 suits after 15k free stones and 5 trendy tickets, so it's all luck. Also having a girl isn't all it's cracked up to be, I have 3 girls that are still "sidelined" because they have SSR, but not very good ones, so they don't see much action. Gravure is unlocked by playing with the girl in a match, it's a separate leveling system. You get more Gravure xp with the "main" matches, less with the event matches, and none with a daily match. Since those can only be unlocked by playing, you just have to play lots to get them. For WAY more info about the game system and such there is a great guide on Steam. Depending on your luck depends on well you do, but you can do a lot with free stones. Once you get a few girls with level 90 suits the game starts to steam roll that even if you bust on a gatcha you can still get unlock stones from the event to get more suits to level 90 and so on.

Either way thanks for reply Based on the title most modders will let you know on the mod itself, using teddy's example above it denotes SSR, which indicates it will be the actual costume the mod is for. If it is a Costume Customizer one it will be denoted in the title as CC if that is the method that the costume needs to be installed through. You can also check it based on the file structure, all CC mods contain Honoka, Common and Marie.ini files and the CostumeCustomizerModConfig.xml files in them, normal mods won't have those 4 files. You can play the game without spending money, just don't expect to get through the events unless you get RNGesus to bless you. Unlocking characters will take a while, I was F2P for a while and always at least 2/3 characters behind, been playing since 2 months after JP launch.
