catghoti Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Hi I am a Newbie here, I have downloaded a bunch of Sim4 Sims from LL creators like Sims4You and Missme. In the process of doing so I am just getting more and more confused. Although I haven't actually played the game yet, I feel like If I don't understand these things I will be in trouble in the future. Please answer my question below if you can! 1. I noticed that some authors uses different body part mods such as feet, lips, tongue and skintones. For example:SIMS4YOU uses HD-Feet-v3-female-def-rep.package, MISSME on the other hand uses [MB] Default feet Female 6v.package. will they conflict with each other? If so how does game determine which file wins? Should I keep them both or should I delete them? Also if I download feet model from necrodog, Will it conflict with them? 2. If different creators uses different body part mods, is it the best that I only use one creator's sims just so that It won't conflict with other creators' sim mod? 3. In some creator's sim mod(mainly created by Alsrudqhr), there is a file called "Turbodriver_WickedWhims_Tuning.package". When I start the game WickedWhimes notifies me that there are duplicate files and I have to delete one of them. Should I ignore that notification? I checked both files. Both are different sizes and I am really not sure what to do here. Thank you for stopping by!

When it's non-default then you can have more. So pick only one default foot replacement. 2. If they're non-default body parts you can have as many as you want. 3. You should delete the WW tuning file you've downloaded with the sim. It's the author's fault to put it into the download, it shouldn't be there. Keep your original WickedWhims files. Hope it helps ? Let me know if you have any more questions

Let me know if you have any more questions Correct me If I am Wrong. So basically In this game every body part has Default cc and Non-Default cc. A default mod will completely override the EA skin/eyes/eyebrows and everyone in my town would have it too, whereas a non-default mod wouldn't completely replace the EA original. But how do I determine which mod is default mod and which is not then? This is Sims4You's succubus Andraxipah.. you can see here there are tons of packages.. Is searching each packages up online the only way to determine if they are default or not? Is there any tips to speed up this process? BTW I love your sims. Especially the four season Elves. I am trying to create a fantasy world here so the idea of adding elemental elves is something I would never imagined, but welcomed.

You can tell if cc is default usually by its name or by the description on the site which you've downloaded it from. For example all of the files on the screenshot are (probably) non-default, except for the "PYXIS_EATeethBegone_ICfbPearlyWhites_DEFAULT". This file will replace the teeth of all of the sims in your game. The same goes for the "HD-feet-v3-female-def-rep" - this one will replace feet. Stuff like hair, makeup, clothes, skin details, accessories usually don't have default replacement versions. However body parts like feet, teeth, eyes, butts, breasts can be default, depends on how the creator sets it. I don't know if my explanation makes any sense ? but here it is. And I'm glad you like my sims! I've been playing a fantasy save file for a while now and it's great! Good luck with creating your own!

thellama99 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I would recommend downloading the Sims 4 Tray Importer - It will let you look at a Sim, and all of the CC installed on them, and it will tell you if things are conflicting. (just because it says things are conflicting doesn't mean it's a problem... but if you are having a problem with some CC its super helpful to figure out where the problem is coming from) Can also help you figure out if you have multiple copies of the same CC.
