smilexsmile Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) I get random crashing in sanctuary with workshop opened when I get near the chemistry station I'll include the paste bin here from buffout 4, hopefully I'm doing this right. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!! (Included the pastebin as a download just in case setting it as private makes it so people can't see) https://pastebin.com/xnMPpNPD Buffout 4 pastbin crash.txt Edited September 18, 2022 by smilexsmile
smilexsmile Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 It seems that whenever I activate the workshop, I'd end up crashing about a minute or two later.

Turn off weapon debris in the game launcher and see if that helps. (You may need to launch the game for it to write this to the ini file? Or you could try the "Weapon Debris Fix" if turning it off in the launcher doesn't help you) Edited September 18, 2022 by Sgt. Marge

(You may need to launch the game for it to write this to the ini file? I launched the normal launcher through steam and disabled it there, but I still ended up crashing. Here's an updated crashlog! crash-2022-09-18-21-12-49.log
smilexsmile Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) Okay, I went and downloaded the Weapon debris fix, just in case! I turned them both off in my options as well. It seems that the issue is that whenever I use my workshop, I get an option to "upgrade, delay, or nothing (aka leave it as normal" when I activate it. About a minute after choosing any option, I'd end up crashing, so I THINK it has something to do with a mod that edits or messes with the workshop! Could someone help me verify if this is the case in my new updated crash buffout4 log? Sorry, I have no clue how to read buffout4 EDIT: I'm thinking it could be Increased Build Limit Enhanced 4K that's messing up my game and causing a CTD just because the CTD ONLY happens after I interact with the workshop. Please help lmk if that's what it may be via the crashlog buffout4. Sorry again, no idea how to read this crash-2022-09-18-21-20-36.log Edited September 18, 2022 by smilexsmile

Please check the buffout FAQ regarding nvwgf2umx.dll crash. https://wiki.fireundubh.com/fallout4/buffout-faqs (Ctrl+F nvwgf2umx.dll to find the relevant section). You may need to revert to a previous version of your graphics driver. Here's the scanned crash log which has found other issues and offers suggestions to remediate them. Im not sure. I do have a question though; I've never run into an issue with fallout 4 prior to downloading mods, etc with the newest nvidia patch. Is running on newer GPU patches causing my crashes due to that?

You just download the scanner package to your hard drive and extract it to wherever you keep your modding tools. Check the instruction on the description for more info. As for your buffout install, the scanner says you're missing the "Address Library" or at least that it can't find it. But as long as you have that installed into your mod manager it should be ok. You also should make sure you properly installed the xSE Plugin Preloader as that helps buffout to load. Those directions are in the adult guide with the Buffout 4 instructions. The scanner says you can edit the xml file with any text editor, but I don't think that is correct. You should use notepad ++ to edit xml files. As for the nVidia crash, i don't have much information on why it crashes now or why it didn't before. But I do know that your log specifically has that dll listed in the first 20 registers which is an exact match for the remediation recommendation in the FAQ, and we have seen the crash a few times on the AAF discord. Your best bet is to attempt to roll back to a driver that is pre-445 version and see if that helps. Spoiler Edited September 18, 2022 by Sgt. Marge

I definitely have "Address Library" installed in my load order, maybe I didn't install it properly. I also have xSE Plugin Preloader too. I followed the adult guide to the letter, which I am assuming is the "AAF ultimate guide" on loverslab! So, I found out what was causing the crashes, oddly enough! It was actually Settlement Build Limit Enhanced 4K and, for whatever reason, the weapon debris fix mod? I uninstalled both of those from my game, ran a new save, and bam, everything is working, haven't crashed since reproducing what made me crash before. I wanted to do that before having to default into an older driver because I simply can't see that being the case as I've run fallout 4 on my RTX 2070 before without any issues on the latest GPU patch with mods. Anyways, thanks a whole bunch for helping me out man! I know it wasn't exactly the answers to my fix, but just having someone help me wrack my brain for what may be wrong helped a ton! Seriously, thanks a bunch man! 1

Seriously, thanks a bunch man! It sounds like maybe it was a load order problem. I saw a post on that mod's support page that says it should be loaded at a fairly high priority. Spoiler Something to consider if you wanted to try and continue using the mod.

Ya, I thought about it, but considering I don't use any workshop or settlement altering mods like those two (Im assuming I dont have any, looking through now), I think it's a mod incompatibility with something I have that might touch it without my knowledge. Going to look for something that changes it in a more simple way, or leave it alone otherwise!
