mishovur Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) I've been playing mostly fallout 4, and it's a functional game, with adult content installed and configured properly using the mods from this site.  Out of the blue I wanted to try skyrim , but I know how many nuances there were in Fallout (mutliple models for bodies, mutliple physics models, etc. etc, not to mention the actual mods, and issues with compatibily)  I found a large post that explains a lot, but there are no 'basics'  For example - what version and build of the game do I need to avoid issues? Is there a way to apply some 'wide screen patch' to the game itself? (i need 3440x1440 resolution)   Honestly, guys, I'm not lazy, nor am I stupid, problem is for a complete and honest newbie (in this specific game I mean) it's TOO much information, so l'm a bit lost :))) Besides, some info could be outdated (I had the same problem with the fallout initially), and it was a damn nightmare till I found my bearings  Maybe (and honestly it's MOST likely the case) I just had not YET found the likely post with a step by step guide for the begginers.  I have a very decent PC (i9+3080ti) so should I download some pack with beeter res textures? And so on and so forth.  Please, If anyone can just LINK me a post (and I bet THERE IS such a post already, probably more then one, hehe) with a guide for a person who never even seen this game before - I will be most gratefull.  Thanks in advance! BDNelson Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Well, I'm running SSE 1.5.97 and I have it modded with 529 mods, works great! HOWEVER, SSE 1.5.97 is no longer available, Skyrim Anniversary Edition now. So, you are going to have to go with that on\in Steam to get the modding to work properly with either Vortex or MO2. Nexus has a "guides" category you can go to for some, I stress "some", guidance. Since you have already modded FO4, you know to start with your tools first, cleaning the game is next with xEditQuickAutoCleaner (SSEEdit... for Skyrim). With Skyrim though, from here, you have to decide on FNIS 7.6 XXL or Nemesis, it should be installed prior to any of the first layer of mods (bug fixes, etc...) as the animation setup being first is really important in my game, LOTS of animations, 17,000 plus. From there you can do it almost the same as you did FO4. They are both Bethesda games, modded almost exactly the same. Â I tried VERY hard to mod up FO4, I failed COMPLETELY! Now that I have successfully modded up Skyrim, I understand the routine and the right process to do it right. I will mod up FO4 again, it is mod ready right now. I'm having WAY too much fun with my Skyrim build right now to break away and do that though. The "Toys..." mods are my personal favorites, so cool! Â I hope this helps in some way, good luck! 1
