vsuamier Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 First I start with mods that I use to describe motivation behind conversion of the mod "Playable Headparts All Races" from LE to SSE. Spoiler 1. My base race is "The ancient falmer" mod: It is a snow elf race based on Altmer race, 2. High Poly Head (including addon for custom races) 3. "Texture morph" is a framework for sliders but only used by one mod (as far as I know) 4. Expressive Facegen morphs (more sliders) 5. CBBE 3BA + Autobody (I have created "morph" presets with the CBBE racemenu addon (more sliders :) ) for different weights) 6. A lot of hair mods (KS Hairdos, SG Hair, Apachii, Dint Hairpack) 7. Mods for better brows and eyes (for better compatibility with High Poly Head) I tried to port several racemenu presets to the snow elf race. First it was difficult because elf race deforms the head quite a lot so loading presets "destroyed" the head. Luckily meanwhile it is a bit easier for High Poly Head based presets. For Low Poly I still struggle and sometimes port a head with help of outfit studio (it does not always work) My current problem though is that I have headparts used in racemenu preset and corresponding mods installed but the hair do not show up. Indeed the hair is not there in my custom race even though for the correct race hair shows up. It's some limitation imposed by skyrim that modders are using too. There might be reasons for it but I use racemenu and it's sculpt feature to be independent to the elf head form (which makes it unnecessarily hard to create round faces). I know how to port mods from LE to SE and will try a simple port myself. Unfortunately I do not have time to make it into an official mod myself (also nexus permissions for porting are unclear and mod author was not active this year). Offtopic: Low Poly Head to High Poly Head Spoiler - Simply changing headpart from low to high works if the imported low poly head did not have changes done in sculpt editor (i.e. file size of preset is small) - Racemenu saves any changes (like importing sculpt) when you export head. It will afterwards hang up if you try to import preset without scult changes (!), sometimes on sliders too - when your preset has changes in sculpt, you should convert it using outfit studio (with a matching "default" head mesh) after exporting the mesh with sculpt editor (Tutorial on YT or here: ) (Update: sorry, posted into wrong forum - didn't even know there is a seperate one for requests)
vsuamier Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 I attached the converted mod (I also ESL-ified it to save space in your load order). It does not solve my problem. The limitation of this mod is that it adds mods that were not meant for this race. It does not add mod parts (at least this KS Hairdo hair is still missing). Apart from patching KS Hairdos there are other ways that could work to make that hair available in the "The Ancient Falmer" custom race. The snow-elf custom-race imitates itself as Altmer, so consequently a custom race that does not do that could behave differently (to my knowledge these custom races are rare).
