Realistic gameplay, the 'socially awkward' trait is great!

Recommended Posts

I'm one of those players who like the game aspect of the Sims, and I play with no aging (manually aging sims every now and then). The game is really not meant to be played that way though, and the ease with which you friendship, knowledge and promotions is designed around normal lifespan (33 days). I would have liked a few traits to make gaining romance harder, and boy, do the 'socially awkward' do the trick!

With the trait on, small talk becomes difficult, sims don't automatically respond positively to social interaction, some will even instantly dislike your sim. Giving sims compliments and flirting isn't any longer a surefire way to get laid. Going to a pub and try to pick up someone is actually difficult! Finally a bit of a challenge! Playing with WW doesn't automatically turn the game into a porn show.

The trait is only available for teenagers, but if you make a teenager in CAS and age up your sim afterwards, it will keep the trait. For anyone bored with the lack of challenge in adult gamplay, I highly recommend giving it a go!

If anyone with modding skill is reading this, would it be possible to make a mod that made all sims socially awkward by default, and a 'socially competent' skill as a reward or wicked trait?
