Apply preset to an npc without changing it face

Hi Im using the captive tattoos and I spent like 30-40 minutes applying all the tats I wanted and I saved it as a presest now I want to apply this tats to the companions as well but if I do that the companions will turn into a copy of my character so is there any way to apply only the tats to them? cause I dont want to spent another 30-40 minutes on each new companion to make them look the way I want Im also a noob on the modding world so I apologize is I dont know what Im talking about. Edit: ok so like I tried it on piper and she looked like "me" but then she turned back into her model and kept the tats so Idk wtf is going on but I think I made it work edit 3: piper goes back to herself with the tats but now Im trying on Cait but she doesnt go back to herself I need your  help guys this is really frustrating
