The Sim doesn't get reset, just stops what its doing and teleports to a location that you set. Teleport them to the location you want, then use Wicked... Pose... Actions... Enable Positioning. Literally five seconds. Don't use positioning to move your Sims  large distances - it is designed for smaller movements.

 

If you want to sit there and click a green arrow for two hours, more power to you. You'd be better off just asking them to walk to your desired location.
