From the patch notes it looks like a relatively big update to the base game. They've implemented new systems that are very similar to the ones in Wicked Whims and made changes to other preexisting ones. This is bound to conflic with WW and cause errors. There's probably nothing mod creators can do to prepare beforehand, as they have to wait until an update is released to see what's changed.

The update to the base game has only just released. We just have to be patient and give the creators time to update their mods.
