How to track down this crash

So I'm having a recent problem.  I had gotten to level 20 and everything was great, but now I'm starting to get random hanging.  Since it doesn't actually crash, I don't get a nice .net crash report, so I've no clue what is causing it.  It took 20 levels for this problem to show up, so I don't think the traditional binary search is going to work either, plus it might be some kind of script conflict and won't survive the break.

I can turn on the papyrus log, it might help.  Is there another tool that might help me figure out the cause?  I'd hate to drop a mod, start a new game, and then around level 20 experience the same problem.

I would start on mods adding perks, change perk, skill tree.

If you can remember what you added becoming level 20.

Mods changing leveled list, adding perks to npc etc.

That makes sense.  I'll look at perk mods and see where that takes me.  Thank you.
