Race height and walking

Recommended Posts

First post here (and on the forums period), please don't kick my ass if I make a mistake

While working on a loli mod of my own (which will remain 100% personal for now because I am using resources that I currently have no permissions for), I had a strange problem: I am unable to move after exiting showracemenu as the new race until after some time has passed, just standing there with tied hands.

Figuring it was the mods I had installed prior, I restored my copy of Skyrim back to vanilla, then loaded up my mod-in-progress, to no avail.

After a bit more testing, I deactivated my own mod as well and created a new .esp, with only one change to it: I set the racial height for female Nords from 1.03 to 0.78, and the problem came right on back.

When I restored their heights back to 1.03, I was able to tapdance with them spamming WASD immediately after exiting showracemenu, but when I set it back to 0.78 one more time I ended up being paralyzed yet again.

Now, I am completely new to creating Skyrim mods and have never touched the CK or TES5Edit prior to this one so: Is this a known problem? If so, is there any way to fix it? While the problem does resolve itself eventually, I would prefer not having to stand there for three minutes while waiting for my (planned) loli mage's walk animations to load or whatever every time I load my game. ): I'm pretty sure it's not any mod or load order issues either, since I've literally deactivated every single mod and have only Skyrim+the three DLCs still loaded. And the one I made, of course.

If it helps, I can apparently still draw and swing a greatsword without issue, but since I cannot move I am limited to doing standing power attacks until I can... well, move.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance. ):

EDIT: Apparently being encumbered has something to do with it...
