Crys Heart Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 A bit of context, in case anyone needs it: Basemental Drugs come with the custom trait ADHD. A Sim with said trait can get diagnosed at the doctor and be prescribed medicine. I really like that mechanic and want to play Sims with other mental disorders, but none of the ones I've found so far utilize that mechanic. Instead, most of them just have an in-built "Take pills" action. No going out to get the medicine or anything; hell, it's not even an actual in-game item. It's a bit unsatisfying for me personally. Does anyone know of any mental disorder traits/mods that work with Basemental's prescription mechanic?
WhiteGloveSociety Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 God I wish. I want a Basemental-Integrated mod for things like schizophrenia, OCD, autism, bipolar... With the Basemental Framework, it's disappointing I've come up empty handed. Especially because Xanax could work for OCD integration, and there can be other antidepressants. The following is an infodump about an idea I have, but am unable to accomplish: Antipsychotics would cause intense drowsiness, amplified by alcohol and weed, with alcohol/weed working twice as fast and twice as efficiently, even with heavyweight sims. Certain medications would cause hunger/thirst to drain much faster, others interfering with steroids by fucking with metabolism. Especially if Risperidone or Zoloft get introduced Autistic sims would very rarely get focused, but when they do, it's on one subject and locked for days. They will also be extremely susceptible to preferences, with positive and negative effects both amplified, with positive being 1.5 and negative being 2x. There would also be cancelling out actions like ADHD, but not as common. Adderall would have a negative affect on every sim with a mental illness that isn't ADHD, especially if it's alongside ADHD, but the effects remain unchanged for typical and ADHD sims A Bipolar medication that would be added would be Lithium. Lithium will have a 25% chance of causing nausea when taken, followed by a 24 Hour +5 Fine moodlet, and a 5% chance for a +15 Bored moodlet once every 48 hours, lasting for 12h. I wish I knew how to code outside of basic Javascript, as I have a fairly streamlined idea of how I would integrate most of it, from my own experiences with a number of disorders.
