Notifications for stuff I NEVER followed

I only follow some Skyrim[SE] stuff. However, sometimes I get a notification about a mod for a game I don't have and have never followed, nor have I ever followed the mod author.

 

The first time I reported this happening was 1/23/22 (not the first time it happened) SIMS 4

Then 2/1/22 SIMS 4

And 4/27/22 SIMS 3

Today there's another one. This one for Hearthstone

Another erroneous notification for a topic/person/game never followed

What is it with SIMS stuff appearing in my notifications? Here's another one:

I was hopeful that they had stopped, but it didn't last.

Every now and then there's another one

what I would suggest is to click the dropdown next to your name at the top of the page, go to "manage followed content", and after making sure you have a new tab with the ones you want to re-follow later (this is important!), clear everything.

 

everything! that's why you want those tabs open.

 

once you've removed everything, ctrl-F5 and see if anything is still in the list. if there is, remove it and repeat. once there's nothing, go into those tabs and re-follow the important things.

 

I also strongly recommend changing your password as a precaution.
