SIM_A_4 Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Maybe the internet hates me today but I'm having the hardest time finding some basic & free/cheap software to create comics using my screenshots. So what do you use and/or recommend? I'm familiar with web-based apps/websites but am leery of uploading explicit pictures to the ones I've found or am familiar with( if you know of some I can use without worry I'd be interested in those too) Just FYI, I've got an under-powered, archaic PC so I'm not really looking to invest in expensive software I can't use at all or to it's full potential. I'd really just like some templates that I can drop my photos into and add some text bubbles and such. Thanks in Advance. I appreciate any and all help
Vthena Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 You have Gimp, which is a free Photoshop equivalent. If don't mind putting the time and effort you can do great stuff. It looks like you're looking for something much simpler, but I can't think of anything else. 1
TheRealReverend Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Every software that allows you to easily drag and drop elements (pictures, text boxes etc.) on a blank page should work. The Photoshop/GIMP pros will scoff, but I'd probably use something like MS Publisher or LibreOffice Draw. Quick and simple. 1

I just started hearing about GIMP and may try in the future once I have a better set-up and Graphics card 13 hours ago, TheRealReverend said: Every software that allows you to easily drag and drop elements (pictures, text boxes etc.) on a blank page should work. Gambit Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 A quite simple drawing tool with some cool features is paint.net. It allows some calc superposition, magic selector... and the learning curve is much easier than Gimp. But still it has fewer tools. 1
BenjiThatFoxGuy Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) i don't necessarily make sims 4 related content, but my reccommendation for comics is medibang paint. the desktop version of medibang (PC/MAC) isn't stupid freemium like on mobile verison of medibang and medibang's comic panel creation tool thingy is really cool. i've yet to do some proper 3d art comics in it, but my 2d artist friend creates comics in it constantly and she raved all about how cool it is. how yes you could just use the line tool to draw them in, but generating a layout then drawing inside of it is an interesting way. In case of sims 4 comics i couldn't see why it wouldn't work, just then use the wand selection and invert it to crop the rest of the screenshot out so that it doesn't overlap the other panels :] Edited June 25, 2022 by BenjiThatFoxGuy 1
