theprepus Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 This is something that only happens to me in 3rd person and has been bothering me for ages. I couldn't find a solution no matter where I looked, so I decided to ask here. Normally, if you look to something you can pick/activate, your crosshair and "activate area" are in the same spot. However if you change your height thats no longer the case. For example, if you make your character smaller, with console or the mod Player Size Adjuster, now you have to place the crosshair higher over the object to be able to activate it. Changing the position of the camera does not affect this, and arrows/bolts/spells still go where the crosshair is placed, only the "activate" is misplaced. So, if anyone knows about a solution to this, or some hidden INI parameter somewhere to change the position of the activate area it would be very much appreciated.
Nagib Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Hello, Did you make you character smaller with Racemenu?

Hi Using the command setscale or racemenu to change your height makes the problem appear, on top of that your movement speed does not correspond to your new size. I use Player Size Adjuster, and at least it adjust the speed.

There is a field for height, but it will affect anyone with that race though. For example, I use Tera Elin 2 mod and I've set the height to be a bit higher for better alignment for some other mods.

Yes, I use the Elin race and they have the heigh set to 0.7 by default. Trying to alter this generates a new set of problems like slower movement animations or oversized hdt hair and tail, and the mistmatch is still there. It seems like having your scale set to something different than 1 generates the mismatch, no matter how you do it.

I definitely never noticed this part in my game: Quote now you have to place the crosshair higher over the object to be able to activate it Could you provide a screenshot/video of how it looks?

I have never added a video and it had to be downscaled, so i hope it can be seen. beer.mkv Trying to take something small from a shelf is horrible. And as previously said, no matter which way you use to change the scale or where the position of the camera is, it happens.

Try to: - disable Customizable Camera and Player Size Adjuster; - start a new game and recreate your character. Will you have such a misalignment in that case? Judging from the video, I think that Customizable Camera could be the actual culprit.

The disparity between the speed of animations and movement only appears when the default heigh of the character is changed. If the default heigh on the mod for the Elin is 0.7, the speed is adjusted to that size by default. The same occurs if the default heigh is 1. Misalingment Behaves in the exact same way as before. Any heigh different from 1 gets it.

The position of the camera doesnt have any effect, only the scale. On the other hand I didnt even try with 3PCO as I really dont like the "dead zone" of the camera or the lock on.
