Adding more animations = AAF does not run

Hello.
I'm embarrassed to ask for help, because it feels like a failure to Just Read the Directions on my part. ADHD is a beach yall.

I'm attaching my currently installed mods. Towards the bottom are the relevant ones. With the setup here, AAF works perfectly, but when I enable any/all of the animation packs at the bottom, I can't run any anims. I can call up AAF with the home key, but when I press enter to start a scene, the dots move around the AAF logo but I can't progress to actor selection.

What am I doing wrong here?

 

troubleshooting steps so far
-checking to see if it was a particular anim pack that was causing the problem [thought it was savagecabbage's initially, but it is actually not specific to any pack]
-running LOOT in MO2
-changing load order in MO2 to what it is now [reread setup guide and saw order wasn't optimal]

-reading the AAF setup guide [doesn't mean much because i have the attention span of a ham sandwich]
-reading the troubleshooting guide [ditto]
-searching the forums [must be doing something wrong because i tend to get either no results or way too broad ones]
-reading the first few pages of people asking for help here [holy jeez wow]
-tried to see if MO2 was installing things correctly. this is where i absolutely ran out of steam. i did have to manually install a couple of things toward the top of my load order because MO2 didn't really know what to do with them....but i got cagey about trying to manage anims like this.

i think there's more that i've done, but i can't remember rn.
