horouboi Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 ok, i had a MAJOR issue with my game where i can't get past "ms rhea's armorsmith" and so i decided to make a new game and reinstall ALL my mods and make sure i don't have anything related to armorsmith, well after a week of remodding and figuring out stuff i managed to get stuff to a point i thought i could play again.. BUT ARMORSMITH IS STILL IN MY GAME!!!! is there a way i can post my load order and have someone help me figure what mod is doing this, i litterally can't use settlement mode because of this and that basically locks out half the game! PLEASE HELP!!!! i also posted this at nexus, i have absolutely no idea why or even how i still have armorsmith in my game EDIT: i'm also using "vortex" if that means anything!
Gameplayer Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Use Fo4edit to look at the required files for each mod? It will work its just could take a while depends on your LO size.

Gameplayer Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Ah, I think I understand, Armorsmith is not actually managed by Vortex, its installed into your game folders is it?. You have changed over from Nexus Mod Manager to Vortex but you did not start with a fresh installation to do this. I'm thinking if that is the case, you may want to consider starting from scratch. Now I dont know Vortex, but if it were MO2 it would be a simple matter would not lose any mods at all since MO2 mods are all in the MO2 mod folder rather than installed into the games folders. IF Vortex is similar in that regard you might not be deleting all your mods to get that fresh start.. I would suggest that you need to consider completely removing the Fallout 4 installation. This will get rid of any files not managed by Vortex. OF course I am assuming that Vortex behaves similarly to MO2, that it has its own mod folder that acts as a virtual folder system. I would suggest also using MO2 since its designed specifically for Beth games and not as a generalist for all games covered by Nexus. Its a power modding tool and very well documented for its use across many video tutorials and I find that its interface is quite intuitive so much so that when my own friends made the switch over it did not take long for them to get a handle on making use of the manager and even using some of its most important features such as finding file conflicts and resolving them without my help. NMM is fairly old as well chances are a lot of your mods have been updated since you last played.
horouboi Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 crap, that might actually be it..... damn it, guess i'll have to take another day of redownloading just to make a new install hopefully this fixes it

Good post, just want to add that NMM is still developped and maintained - via github/reddit -, current version is 0.83.5.0. In addition I use MO2 occasionally for mod trials to put it this way, IMHO way better to handle than Vortex and causes less issues. Tried Vortex several times, but was just not for me. Usually I have around 246-254 plugins active, mods 476 currently, and NMM also handles the installation of large mods fairly well.
horouboi Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 ok, so i just unistalled and then deleted my fallout 4 folder and reinstalled the game, i then tried the "deploy mods" function" in vortex and now armorsmith is finally gone!!!!! also it could have been a issue with "Legendary Modification - DLC and Additional Fixes" having stuff to do with armorsmith and "Enhanced Commonwealth Wardrobe" also having something to do with armorsmith, now that i have done this, i plan on trying to play a little
