addictedude Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 it is worth to play fallout4 for adult playthrough? Or should i choose fallout 3 or new vegas, or maybe skyrim? There are more mods than 2 years ago?
Papersword Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 There's a decently sized and passionate modding community for Fallout 4 which offers a fairly all encompassing adult playthrough. That being said, the level of quality is not the same as Skyrim. It's somewhat unfair to compare them directly; Skyrim's modding community is over a decade old with a universe popular for over two, but it has to be said that you will notice the lack of polish in some areas of FO4's adult mods. Check out Aylis's Fallout 4 starter guide for a look into what's on offer.

There are more mods than 2 years ago? The guide that was already linked is good for starters but I thought I'd also link the Adult Guide. This lists most of the game-play mods that work with AAF which is the Advanced Animation Framework at the core of the current Fallout 4 adult modding scene. You'll need to follow this guide once you get your basic mod list sorted. If you have any major problems getting AAF to work, please join the discord linked in the guide for support. Please choose between Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex for your mod manager, as the AAF Discord does not support Nexus Mod Manager and you'll be greatly hindering yourself if you pick NMM.

Absolutely depends on your general enjoyment of the game(s) as is. if you are one of a substantial population of people who can not or can barely tolerate Fallout 4's gameplay, tone, and writing (especially in comparison to the other games mentioned) then absolutely that'd be a NO. However, if you do enjoy Fallout 4 vanilla/modded already. Then yeah, give it a go! There is a (suprisingly still) active community of mods and modders bopping around Fallout 4, and 99% of them are eager to help people figure stuff out if they got issues (ehem FROM MY EXPERIENCE), provided the person has followed the provided instruction/advice already given...
