Animation Hand Problems

Hey y'all,

I'm currently trying to make some pistol animation replacers.  For some reason, every time I'm in my idle animation with my pistol, my character's left hand remains raised like he has a spell in it, even though he doesn't have a spell equipped.  In the animation, his hand is supposed to be at his side.

 

Also, whenever my character walks while aiming, his torso rotates to the right so that it looks like he's aiming his gun to the side despite the animation having the torso facing forward.

For context, I'm using blender to animate.

 

 

Here is a video of both of the errors in order.  Don't mind that the gun is facing backwards; I just haven't gotten around to fixing that problem yet.

This could be the pistol. Being a ranged weapon, it will be used as if using a bow and / or crossbow  .  If so, you'll need an alternate animation that does what you're doing
