A good tutorial for child followers, FO3, KCP, EC

As the tittle says, where can I find a proper tutorial to create a child follower for Fallout 3? I'm trying to, but I can't even get the G.E.C.K. started. I'm no expert on this, I've only created a simple follower with a tutorial I found on Nexusmods. Cool, I made it, but not happy with my "work", I deleted it afterwards.

I'm inspired by the mod "Raelyn". I pretend to create a voiced follower... with Loquendo, I guess.

Learning from the first link you posted, I opened the file C:\Users\Leiyane\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\GECKCustom.ini

and changed the string value bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=0 to bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

Now I got it working, thanks.

 

Well, I managed to perform 10% of the task, I mean, the actor is created and it spawns. Now I need a good tutorial for dialogues and scripting and all that awful sh*t.

Also, why are some textures in red? So far I've found "00CuteGirlShirt" "00CuteLabCoat" and "00BZSlaveSkirt"

Why do I get a CTD when I talk to any vanilla character with dialog options?

 

Sniffing around I found where the problem is: the "GOODBYE" dialog option. If I set Ekaterina's "GOODBYE" to 'Top-level' it works on her but crashes the game if I talk to someone else. If I uncheck the 'Top-level' then there is no CTD but then there's no way to exit dialogues.

 

Ok, so far I've managed to make her:

-Wait/continue
-Guard/continue
-Fix items
-Share inventory
-Counter-strike if the player attacks her and she's not hired as well as accepting player's rendition
-Set home
-Go home
-Fire (Of course I had to add that) she goes back to where she's found
-Re-hire (Mmm.. yes obviously)
-Change follow distance (Normal/Far)
-Owns an unique rifle with infinite ammo (Player can't have it)
-34 lines of IdleChatter
-All random commands such as good bye, trade, fix, wait/continue, guard/continue and greet. She will never bother you with the same lines over and over again.
-Top-left screen messages when a command is given to her
-She's unkillable (Essential)
-Talks shit if you murder or rob
-All of her menu lines are voiced and lip-synced
-Automatically goes back home if the player enters Vault 87 (I haven't tested this yet)
-Backstory intro (All voiced, if you want to know more, listen to her IdleChatter)
-Automatically teleported to player if she's too far away
-380 lines of dialog... and I will add more.

 

And so far I've been unable to:

-Fix the CTD when talking to vanilla NPCs
-Set a map marker when she's waiting/guarding
-Fix the menu bug: No matter what priority I set, they're always on the same order. And some options like 'continue' when she's guarding/waiting/home will not appear until I select 'share inventory' or 'fix' first
-Create a walkie-talkie to call her when the player needs help (I've looked into Cherry's 2-way headset and it's complicated)
-Remove her from the "PlayerFaction" if she's fired, so she becomes hostile if the player attacks her. Right now, if I fire her and then shoot her, she won't become hostile, just say "ouch" and continue walking.

UPDATE: I fixed the crash to desktop. It seems to be some conflict with some other mod. I changed Ekaterina's load order from the last to the first of the .ESPs group. You know, right after the last .ESM. Look:

Do you know any way to pack Ekaterina's voice assets into a .BSA?

 

There are 960 files (101MB) into her voice folder. It can be annoying for the players to install/uninstall. I only want to pack the resources for the first public beta. The 'official' release will be a simple RAR/ZIP/7Z with the 'loose' files; this way the players can translate her to their languages (If they feel like it). I'd say she's 80% complete.

It's been a while.

 

I'm actually redesigning the mod, to make it 'standalone'. I have a problem: when I talk to any NPC besides my follower, the game crashes to desktop. On earlier versions all I did was to change the load order.

 

Currently, the load order trick is actuallly not working. I discovered that if I tick the "Top-level" checkbox on the "GOODBYE" conversation item, Ekaterina will show the 'goodbye' option on her dialog, but the game will crash to desktop. If I uncheck "Top-level" the game won't crash, but there is no 'goodbye' option for ANY NPC.

 

Any ideas?? I'm stuck.
