Juffo78 Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Hello all, I had a modded version of Skyrim (a version running with SKSE 2.00.20) up an running using Vortex. After Vortex updated, the game did not launch, anymore. Concerning point: even by using the skse64_loader.exe, the game did not launch. As I planned to relocate Skyrim and Mods to a new SSD, I did not care too much. This is done, now. I had to update Skyrim to version 1.6.353.0.8 in the process. So I downloaded skse64_2_01_05 and unziped it in the Skyrim folder. But still, the skse64 loader is not working. What could cause this, and how to fix it (ground-zero installation)? My opjectives: 1. Getting SKSE64 working. 2. Getting rid of Vortex and changing to MO2. 3. If possible, continue my savegame. Does this make sense, and can you help me with point 1?
BDNelson Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I'm sorry, but you have installed Skyrim AE. SKSE64 does not work in SAE. You have to start modding Skyrim Anniversery(I know, it's not spelled right...?) Edition now, unless you saved your entire game folder in a different place, like I did, Skyrim Special Edition is no longer available. As for Vortex, I have for 5 years and continue to use it. I just had that update as well, it did not do that to my SSE 1.5.97 with SKSE64 2.0.20 and 529 mods installed and working with about 40% of the game completed, it still runs just fine. I think you have something else wrong. You might want to look a bit closer to your mod build, load order, etc... FYI, I know that the INSTALL order matters in Vortex. In my build, LOOT is a needed tool, HOWEVER, I let LOOT handle the load order, I don't change that in any way. The load order I don't control, the install order on the other hand I am very, very careful with. EXAMPLE: Sexlab animations should be installed after SLF 163 (that's what I use), SL Aroused, SL tools (not the exact name), SL Animation Loader, but before SL mods that use the animations. What a mod sees when it is installed is more important than what a installed mod sees being installed. Mods that use animations should be installed AFTER the animation mods themselves are installed. This is what worked best in my build and I am having a lot of fun in my game right now, wow, VirginMarie is one of the best authors out there. Love those "Toys" mods!!! It is possible I am wrong about all of this, but I know what is working in my game right now. I have a TON of pics if you want to see some samples of game play, WARNING, they are XXX rated.
