flowersplash Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Hello! I was wondering if it's possible for my sim to just work in a strip club without actually owning it? Like if I create a strip club and have one sim owning it, can I make a new household and have that sim work there while still playing the household? Just wanna make my sim a stripper lol
BitterBlue Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 I know this is late and you probably already tried it yourself or gave up but I'll answer this for anyone searching for this answer in the future since I also recently wondered the same thing and tested it out for several hours in various ways. The Strip Clubs seems to actually be designed to mostly run on their own for players who just want their sims to visit a strip club so it's not too difficult. As far as you being able to "Work" there as an employee, it will take some setting up and could be a bit finnicky. Step 1: would be completely setting up the strip club with the household you want to Own the strip Club [I think it's also important to keep that household marked as PLAYED aka the heart.] Set up the lot with all the objects you want the strippers/customers to interact with, maybe set up a bar and hire a Janitor too. *Personally, I don't think Janitors work very well so I never hire them and just buy a roomba or clean it myself. *Also. I'm not too sure if the Bar Supplies will decrease while NPC bars are running since I never use bars in my strip clubs. I have most set up like brothels with only 1 Strip Pole [So most sims have a place they'll gather instead of standing outside] and the rest Charming and Ho-ing with NisaK's prostitution system. Step 2: Hire all the Dancers you want to work there, design their outfits, AND HIRE YOUR SIM. *I don't think this is supposed to be possible but you can hire any sim and then switch to the sim that works at the Strip Club. Your sim will be marked properly as a "Dancer" and have all the correct interactions. [it will even be in the Career Panel as "Strip Club Dancer"] *Open the club at least once to have all the dancers arrive and assign their outfits. YOUR SIM TOO. Unless you want to do a custom outfit. When you go to work on the lot if you've Assigned an outfit your sim will properly dress in it. *I personally set up a club with the Strip Club owner and all the employees so it's easier to set door locks if you want a Break Area or Dressing Room where the workers can eat and nap if they get tired. [I don't actually know if dancers needs decay but I have seen them do the "Bathroom" walk a few times, might also just be easier to disable their Needs if you plan to work long hours] Step 3: Well, actually there isn't really much of a step 3. This part is just switching to your sim and playing. I personally always recommend you use "Go To Work" in the career panel when you want to work on the Lot. You can just go to the lot whenever you want but sometimes it doesn't properly register that you're working. *You'll have all the client interactions available even if you're not properly marked as a dancer [my sim was marked as bartending for some reason] all you have to do is initiate a Charming interaction like Lap Dance and once the session is over you should "Return to Stripping" or something like that and get the proper Dancer Headline over your sim's head. PAYMENT: You do make money but I'm referring to the Base Pay/Minimum Wage you would receive as a Dancer [The 6 Simoleans an Hour in the Career Panel]. While you are marked as an employee of the strip club, actually getting paid is a bit complicated. If you even want to bother with it. This seems to have to do with the Strip Club's "Open" session not being properly started. It's specifically started by the Owner Sim [while you are controlling them] arriving on the lot. As NPCS, if they're not a Dancer then they probably won't be on the lot when you arrive and even if you call them there or arrive with them it seems to have no effect on the Strip Club being considered "Open". If you want the Base Pay on top of tips then you'd have to start the Strip Club work session with the lot owner sim on the strip club lot and have it Open, then switch to your sim who will already be working at the club when you load in. Work as many hours as you want and then leave the lot. leaving the lot triggers you getting paid and it does seem to properly keep track of how many hours you've worked. My sim got paid twice by using this method and it was a different amount each time. 194$, the first time working like a whole day, then 72$ the second time when I was testing the switching method. *Another possible way to get the Base Pay is by bringing the Strip Club Owner with you when you leave the lot (even if they aren't on the lot). This happened to me once. I don't know if I did something else but I was going from the strip club to the beach and brought him with me, which triggered a payment. I have no idea what triggered this, it might have nothing to do with bringing the Lot Owner with you when you leave but you can try it. TIPS: This is the main way your sim will be making money so really it's not important to bother with switching between the strip club owner and your sim unless you want that Base Pay. Your sim will keep all the tips that you earn while giving a Lap Dance, Pole Dancing, ect (if you use NisaK's prostitution add-on) THINGS I NOTICED WHILE TESTING THIS OUT: 1: While working at a strip club as only an "employee" you can see the Strip Club Owner phone menu but it's blank. Though you can actually do things like assign lap dancing spots and order dancers to pole dance. So, it seems to treat you like the Strip Club's "Manager" while not actually owning the strip club. I assume this is for players who are just visiting the strip club, if they want to set up a specific scene or something. 2: As an NPC strip club the Club's hours are just when ever you arrive on the lot [so you can set your own Work Hours]. The previous client sims that were on the lot when you left will probably still be there but they will immediately leave since the session is restarting and a new batch of client sims will arrive. The dancers will probably also all still be there and will just continue working as normal since the strip club session has been reset. Wish they had schedules but can't really do anything about that. 3: The dancers will autonomously switch jobs between Charming and Stage Dancing (mostly without trouble), if you use the auto-retask. Don't interrupt their dance or they might get stuck marked as Stage Dancing. The main issue is they often get assigned to bartending after Stage Dancing. I don't even have a bar on the lot, at least I don't think I do. I'm pretty sure this is just a problem of how the strip club system doesn't register that there is no bar to work at so it shouldn't assign bartending. if they're set to bartending they basically do nothing. This might be different if you actually have a bar on the lot with a bartender but I don't know. *Having a mod that can control NPC sims could help to re-task them but that's a use at your own risk sort of thing. 4. If you ever need to switch back to the Strip Club Owner household to change things, add dancers, ect, the Strip Club Session will "Close" and pay the workers. The money the client NPCs "Pay" seems to disappear into the ether if you're not directly controlling the Strip Club owner household while the Strip Club is open so they will always lose money. I just gave the household like half a million Simoleans so I don't have to think about it. [There are probably things I missed] [All the dancers are wearing masks, lol, was going for an Eyes Wide Shut thing and the mardi gras/Carnival masks were the best choice without looking for more CC] 12
rfrayer420 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Go to work does not function. It is like trying to go to work when you have an NPC job. It just wont.
Splaticus Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 If you have a character buy a strip club, and then hire the character you want to play as an employee, then you can play that character. On the career tab click "go to work." You will be at the strip club working and making money, but not as the owner.
