GLITCHED ENCOUNTERS (3 Chief Bandit Level 6)

Hiyah folks  

 

Since few weeks of modding I observed that many of my Skyrim inworld encounters are changed to 3 Chiefs Bandits level 6. 

This is not changing even when my PC is above this level and starts immediately after the begining of the game (example of the encounter when going from RiverWood to Whiterun on the slope just before the Meadery) when my PC is level 1

 

I guess it's one of my mods... but i really...RALLY cannot guess which one... 

Maybe someone of you will have an idea.

a number of mods here I haven't used, so no idea.

 

A couple of thoughts:

 

1)  Most likely would be any mod affecting NPC and/or bandit levels, abilities, distribution of enemies, or adds enemies.  I would start there.

 

2)  Are you sure the Display Enemy Level mod is reading levels correctly?  Never used it or heard of it, so no idea.

 

3)  Maybe something like Higher Bounty Awards does something that affects NPC or enemy levels?  Never heard of the mod, don't know what it does, but if it touches bandits or enemies, maybe that is the cause? 

 

4)  Don't know Encounter Zones, A Matter of Time, or a few like that on your list.  Maybe they are the culprit?  

 

5)  In your mod overwrites, check if any are overwritting anything related to bandits, enemies, spawns, or something like that.  I don't know how they are labeled in the files, so I don't know the exact terms to search for.  But if you see something like that being overwritten by a mod, that is something worth trying to disable or change its mod order location to see if it fixes it.

 

The only other thing I can suggest is starting a new game with all those turned off and seeing if it fixes it.  Maybe something crazy like an armor mod has a bad piece of code in the file causing the problem, but very unlikely.  I'd start with the above first.

 

Maybe someone else has a better idea of what to do, just wanted to give a few simple suggestions.

In the wors case i will start a fresh game. Save somewhere after the bridge of RIverWood and will try adding mods by mods and going through this encounter on the slope just before the Meadery

I suspect, and this is just a guess, that the bandit spawns may be hard to test by disabling mods.  They are likely in the save file and would need to respawn or reset over time (like 30 game days or something).

 

That makes it hard to test turning mods off/on, of course.  And starting a new game and traveling around to find bandits would be a headache.  You could always use the console commands to try and teleport to a location you have seen this problem once you start a new character.  But that's still going to take a bit of time to test. 

 

Sorry, wish I had a better answer for you.  Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong on my guesses.

Yep. This one. And i found in the support thread i am not the only one to observe this problem.

for anyone wondering, its not from a mod its vanilla skyrim. Ive never encountered it on oldrim, ever but first time launching SE and they instantly spawn so i guess either LE was so broken that they just never worked or SE updates added them later. anyway here is the full explanation:

 

EDIT: Huh, guess were talking about 2 different encounters, i didnt read the thread fully and i also have things in the dark... however i had it on LE too, well it might be things in the dark supercharges that specific event, hell i dont know.
