How do I fix the texture glow problem you see in the picture?

You mean the glossy skin? Most probably it's because the skin texture has been saved in DXT1 or DXT5 without transparency channel. You can check with LR Photo studio, that's how the skin alpha channel should look:

 

 

Instead of completely white

 

Just replace the skin texture with another from another mod qith the same parts distribution that looks ok
