geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Been unable to figure out what the heck was causing it, any advice would be appreciated. Since I have no idea what to do. Do I need to send a list of my mods?
Sgt. Marge Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Have you run the game at least 1 time without any mods installed? Are you using a mod manager? Is this your first attempt at setting up mods, or did it work before? If it worked before with mods, did you add anything to the load order in the mean time? If so, revert the changes and try things 1 at a time. Have you set up the ini files for modding? If not, I would recommend using Bethini (That link goes to the Skyrim section, but it works for many games), this utility will do it for you. But pay attention if you use Mod Organizer, you'll need to set the path for your ini files to your mod folder. Another thing that can cause this is not having all of the dlc (not including the HD dlc, it's not recommended to enable HD dlc) Aylis's Beginner's Guide has some good info in it as well, for setting things up. Buffout 4 is very good to have installed for crashing, but if you can't get passed the main menu it's probably not going to help. However if you don't have that yet, you should check it out and use it. If you are using Buffout, and it's generating a crash log, you can post the file here (or you can install Python for Windows and use the Crash Log Auto-scanner). Edit: Forgot to add, once you get Buffout running correctly, if it generates a crash log the file will be located in "Documents\my games\Fallout4\F4SE" and start with the word 'crash'.
geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 thnkyu so much for the help! I think it's actually an easy fix now that I checked the manual, it's saying four play is incompatible, which is weird since it actually worked before but it must of started crashing the game. I'll try nixing that mod and seeing if there is any improvement.
Sgt. Marge Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Ah yes, that would be a problem. Fourplay is an old method of adult modding and not compatible with any of the newer mods. This is probably the guide below that you already found as it's linked off of the Beginner's Guide, but I'll put it here for anyone else that finds this thread. For adult mods we now have the Up-To-Date Adult Oriented Setup Guide and it has great instructions on what mods can and can't be used with AAF. If you have any issues be sure to follow that carefully, enable mods one by one, and you can test in game by pressing the Home key and target an NPC and press F11
geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 okay, it started having issues about a day ago, I just really wish I was able to submit a report so someone else could help my stupidity and point out the offending mod, since my vortex log isn't being to clear about the issue. it said four play was causing conflicts and I ran the game after disabling it, still crashes, looked into the log it's literally identical. So I really haven't the foggiest what went wrong.

geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 here's my log, not sure if it is really the right one, but thanks for the help f4se.log
geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 Also, if need be, I can send you a list of my mods?
geekyraptorstudios Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 Think I did what you were going to do with the scanner, could you read the file for me I'm kinda dumb i guess... f4se.log
Sgt. Marge Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 That is the F4SE log and it indicates that your Buffout 4 isn't configured correctly as it's not loading. Therefore Buffout can't generate a crash log which is what we would want to scan. Please check the Buffout mod installation instructions and make sure you've got it installed correctly. This article is a comprehensive explanation of Buffout and how to install it, and also has good info on some mods you may want to avoid or be cautious with. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/3115
geekyraptorstudios Posted February 1, 2022 Author Posted February 1, 2022 okay, tried a few things... still had ctd. I have a feeling it has something to do with enb helper and buffout 4 f4se.log

The line in your F4SE log says: "couldn't load plugin C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\\Buffout4.dll (Error 126)" You have to copy a file into your Fallout 4 directory, and this file is available from the Buffout 4 mod page on the Nexus. From the FAQ: Quote Couldn't load plugin, or Error 126 This error typically indicates that tbbmalloc.dll was not installed or not installed to the correct location. Ensure tbbmalloc.dll is present in the folder containing Fallout4.exe. The file being referenced above, tbbmalloc.dll, is in the package called "TBB Redistributables" which is in the Main Files section.
