Questions about triggering group sex without cheat settings enabled

What are the specific requirements to be able to trigger group sex animations without having to use always accept sex or polyamorous settings in the WW config? Do all participating sims need to have romantic relations with all other sims? Do they all need the polyamorous trait? Like asking to join in on a couple, would the all three sims need to be polyamorous? Any information regarding group sex animations even those not in my questions are appreciated.
