Pregnant sims belly overlap fix (screenshot included)

Hello. I was wondering how one would go about creating animations where the hands and rest of body are able to detect where the belly is, kind of like how a sim feels a sim's pregnant belly, or how a sim grabs their belly when they're in labor.. The screenshot has belly overlapping. 

Is there an armature in blender that corresponds where the top of the belly is as it grows?
