After re-building armors in Bodyslide, all racemenu body overlays disappear while wearing armor

I use Ghaans revealing armor ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39187?tab=description&BH=0  ) for my armor meshes, and I've had a few issues with the ZAP sliders being wonky there. It's easy enough to fix by just unhiding the relevant zap or opt slider and then rebuilding the armor

 

But, when I tried that yesterday, all of my characters body overlays / tattoos suddenly disappeared! But only while wearing certain armors, such as Steel Plate or Nordic Carved armor. Dwarven armor, for some strange reason, still works fine.

 

I know it's possible to get it working, because it did work with Steel Plate for a while, and only stopped working after I rebuilt the armor.

 

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

 

I use several different body overlay packs for my tattoos, so I don't think it's any one pack there.  But for reference, one of hte packs I use is this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37384?tab=description&BH=2
