tab does not work

As indicated in the title, the TAB key does not work for me, I thought my keyboard had been damaged but I tried it out of the game and it continues to work, create a new game and when loading it again it no longer works, load a previous automatic save that the game did and in that if it worked.

I find it strange because that literal save was like 3 steps before the save I did haha

Does anyone know how to solve that if it happens to me in the future?

Only thing I can think of is some mods cause a character to "lose control" (this will lock player controls) to simulate being powerless.  This locks you out of the map (to stop quick travel), inventory, and magic.  It should return if it is from a mod. 

 

But sometimes it doesn't for whatever reason.  Some mods like BaboDialogue has a debug option to give players back control of their character if something goes wrong. 

 

You probably know all this but throwing that out there.
