This is incredibly useful! thank you! glad someone had this idea - just this last month i finally switched over from having a bunch of companions and npcs in the world with their own custom nifs to a mix of bodygen templates and looksmenu skins/overlays/presets - makes things much easier- (especially since the smallest error in the json files and f4ee wont show anything in the respective menu)

Great tool! Thank you!

Anyone that has trouble with this here is a little bit of help:

This isn't a MOD as such (at least that's not how I've used it). I will explain how to make the character preset JSON into a Bodyslide XML quickly with this tool. Otherwise you would need to do this manually. So this REALLY helps.

  • extract the zip file and (later) run BodyConvert (exe file)
  • in game save your character preset through the character creation menu (console ~ and "SLM 14" in game if you can't find it) - that should export a JSON file to your game dir (in my case I use a Wabbajack modlist so mine was here: ...\overwrite\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets)
  • hopefully you know how to use BodySlide otherwise watch this video:

  • create an empty new preset and save the file ("save as") - what you put into doesn't matter at all - that will create an XML file
  • both JSON and XML files can be openend with notepad. If you want something better use Notepad++ for example
  • now open JSON file from from you game character preset save and (THIS IS IMPORTANT) copy only the first inner structure starting with "BodyMorphs": { ...... and ending where the first curly bracket closes "......}," with the comma
  • Inside BodyConvert paste all that into the 3rd column and press the button on the bottom "ToBodySlide"
  • Now copy everything in the first column
  • Back to the XML ---> find where Bodyslide has saved your previous XML file and open it with Notepad. Probably a good idea to CLOSE bodyslide first. In my case the file was in: "....\overwrite\Tools\BodySlide\SliderPresets"
  • Open the XML file with Notepad and then paste in what you copied from Body Convert and MAKE sure that the structure is intact. Technically it should be replacing everything in the XML with what you got from BodySlide and that's it. Then save the file and close.
  • TIP: Be aware that first data line in the XML with be something like this: <Preset name="A NAME HERE" set="SOME BODY TYPE">..... you can manually change the "A NAME HERE" as that will be whatever comes up in the Bodyslide Preset dropdown!!!
  • Then reopen Bodyslide and you should be able to select your preset with all slide correctly as you exported character. TADA!!!

Thanks again to @brat175 for this tool.
