Looking for some constructive criticism

I've been working on these for the better part of yesterday and today and I'd like to get some constructive criticism on them so I can make alterations on them before I show them to and ask the original author for permission to distribute them.

This is 3 color variants of newermind43's Elven Archer Armor.

As someone who can't do a lick of re-anything, I think they look pretty damn fantastic. I'm all for variety.

That said, time to be a little bit of a hypocrite, even though it's my own personal thoughts on the matter: An option to keep the satchels brown/tan/leathery.

Umm okay.

Your color masks are too stark and opaque. The material looks lacquered or painted not dyed.

Dye tends to blend into a material. My suggestion would be to use a leather base under your color mask, then adjust the layer mask until you get a good blend of color and material together.

You can also achieve this by doing each material section on its own layer simply using a base leather and then adjusting the color and contrast curve levels on each piece until you find a blend that shows both color and base material at the same time.

Overall the recolors aren't bad they're definitely not anywhere near the worst I've seen and overall if you like them then thats the most important part.

I tend to never like anything I do and I'm always redoing it and trying to make it better until I just reach the absolute limit of my skills and understanding.

But then again....I should probably be a little more fair, I'm not familiar with that armor so...what you've done might actually be a vast improvement.

Thank you I think I'll use this method to test the other two color schemes and if they turn out as good do the complete set and throw it in-game and see if it still looks good.

It looks good although maybe just a little too much color saturation. Also wondering about how did you do the texture edits?

Hmm... it looks good to me.

Although personally, I would lower saturation a tiny bit and add more contrast. The colors are a bit too "perfect", for lack of a better word.

If I felt extra motivated, I'd tone down the brightness of the peaks as well. That's some really shiny leather.

But, the original is responsible for those problems- it's just masked by it being brown and colorless.

Yeah I was going to mess with the Vibrancy and saturation of the armor as well I just got busy and haven't really had time to work on it more I'm going to work on it tomorrow since it's sat and post an new pic of it, As for how I did the last one I copied each piece to its own layer then I applied auto color, tone, and contract to it then applied a green and Sepia photo filter to the layers.

The next one I might not use the auto color, tone, and contract and see what happens.
