Would it be worthwhile to get Oblivion now?

I played it long ago when it first came out un modded. I am playing skyrim now and modding it to death. My question is if I should pick Oblivion back up since it has so many mods. Can you make it look as good as skyrim with mods and if so what are the mods I would need to get to make it look best? Are the sex mods really that much better than whats currently available for Skyrim?

Oblivion is a great game in itself, while it does not have the same graphics as Skyrim you can greatly improve it's graphics with mods.

Oblivion even today has a massive modding community.

As for the sex mods? Yeah Oblivion beats Skyrim in that by miles.

It is recommended that you buy Oblivion from Steam here. Personally I would say buy the Game of the Year Deluxe as it is only a few pounds more and contents some nice stuff. But you would be fine with just the Game of the Year if you brought it.

It is a lot easier to buy the game on Steam as it normally goes to 75% during the holidays like Easter and Christmas. Disc copies are hard to get these days for a descent price. Well at least where I live they are.

Agree with Ark of Truth on the STEAM purchase, I bought GOTY on STEAM for only £5.00 though I never use it as I also have a seperate GOTY on another hard drive that I play...that one is modded but not my STEAM version..

I actually recently did this exact same thing. Played Oblivion at release and never modded it, played other games and learned modding, of course played Skyrim and made mods for it let alone modded the shit out of it, and then started playing Oblivion again. Needless to say, with tweaking of ENB, Hand picked textures / mods etc, and a good amount of effort, the game looks pretty stunning. To get it to look like this took some time to set up, and I can dip under 20fps sometimes if I play with the DoF on, but worth it IMO.

*EDIT* Accidentally attached the wrong picture, but can leave that one up to, but attached the other one as well.
