So the answer to a WTF moment was to look at the original Nihon and try to work out the odd bits with a dictionary and websearches. I'd like to suggest that anyone who like me has ferreted out any clues as to what the Japanese really means might like to share it in a thread here as a common resource for all. If this is the wrong place please kick it into the right one. These are some of the things that I've found out. Profound thanks to the many scholars who originally put this stuff on the web. (I'll give credit/links as I recover where stuff came from, I didn't usually record the source when I was making notes). Sound effects really mess up auto translators, but several of the mods I've looked at use them in the dialogue. Innocent laughter of children or youngsters キツキツ kitsu-kitsu キャッキャ kyakka. cackle, (usu. girls or children) クスクス kusukusu. うふふ… ufufu.. えへへ.. ehehe. mischievous giggle へへ.. hehe. If I'm the only one interested in this, let me know, but I hope people will post their own collections (and corrections) to make this a mega resource that really helps make translation easier and faster. The word 'Creampie' means nothing to me either, so I guess it is American English slang, which can be very different from British English Slang. (Just to make things even harder for out non-native english speakers.) As an example, two British children might have a conversation 'Can I borrow your rubber?' I'm informed two American children would NOT have such a conversation. (English Rubber=American eraser)(American Rubber=English Condom). As over here we think of withdrawal as completely ineffective and the contraceptive pill has been widely available since the late '60s, maybe we don't have a phrase for this?

We can all pool our knowledge so that translating things is more fun and easier. The translations I have are sometimes "best guesses" particularily where the source was the translation of, for instance, the cover of a DVD by someone who wasn't that familiar with either Japanese or English! If you don't mind I'll go ahead and incorporate your notes and translations in a revised post #1. Creampie: Yes, creampie is a slang term referencing the fact that western sweet pastries often have a semi-liquid cream coloured filling that oozes out when you bite into them. I believe that there is also the connotation of what in the UK are referred to as "sloppy seconds" where a girl has multiple partners in quick succession who haven't used condoms. anal/nervous: I think that this is a reference to the psychological condition which in the west is called "anal retentive" by followers of Freud. Anally retentive people are supposed to be obsessively neat and orderly and highly strung, even compulsive in their behaviour. It has thereby become a commonplace to describe someone who is a bit finicky as "anal".
