Dude500X Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Outdoors I get between 30-50 and indoors I always get 60. I have vsync on but I really want to cap it all at 40 if possible so the difference in indoor and outdoor don't annoy me so much. Anyone know how I can do this? I've googled and googled but al I come across are d39x or somethin files and they make my frame rate drop to less than 20.
Ark of Truth Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I don't think you can. At least not without a program or mod helping you. Even if you can you don't want to cap your FPS at all. The difference between the outdoors and indoors is easy. Indoor FPS only changes when it game goes from daytime to night time as it makes the light changes, this happens pretty quick and is almost unnoticeable. Outdoor FPS always changes like that due to how much is on the screen. The more stuff on screen the lower your FPS.
Wast1980 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 If you have got a Nvidia card you can limit the frames with Nvidia Inspector. If you are using ENB series you can edit the enbseries.ini in your Skyrim mainfolder like this: [LIMITER] WaitBusyRenderer=false EnableFPSLimit=true FPSLimit=40.0 If you use vsync, this can solve possible input lag.
MrBlazzar Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 You could download bandicam as I believe it has a FPS limiter that works in the free version. Not 100% sure never tried it myself. Could also try this that I found on the nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34/ it is a FPS limiter.
Dude500X Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 thx guys i'll give these a try tomoro morning. truth, what would be the biggest fps drain outdoors? if i can avoid limiting i will.

Dude500X Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 hmm, shadows... ok, i'll try running the game with shadows on lower res and see if the framerate goes better, been running them on 4000x4000(or somethin like that) so could be why
