how to tell when you have too many mods and ways to boost Skyrim to allow for more?

I'm pretty used to modding so I know at least a little bit. So how I usually tell whether or not a game is going to be stable for 100-300 hours is on how many frames I get when being in a place with a lot of things going on, specifically unwalled cities or towns in the first moments of the game. if its not 60 stable frames, I usually assume that I need to go ahead and cut some mods until it becomes stable. my question to you guys is; is there a better way to know if you game will stay stable through its runtime?

 

also, is there a way to maker the game run better? I've used SSME and ENB to boost the computer usage of Skyrim but I'm curious if there is any other way to boost the game to allow for even more mods. understand that I'm not asking about stopping CTDs and that, for the most part, the game is stable, just not running at the efficiency that would allow me to maximize my modlist. any advice on the two topics would be helpful

Judging by your mod list, you might consider transitioning over to SSE. I say that because I see hdtHighHeel.esm in your load order. SSE in and of itself is much more stable than LE. And many of the mods you're currently using have been converted for SSE usage. Making the game run better is a tale of two things essentially. The mods you're using and your PC. I have a relatively high end rig, but it does have its limits. On the other side of the coin, I tend to avoid installing a truckload of script heavy mods. Make no mistake though, a script heavy mod isn't always a bad thing. It's what scripts do and how they're doing it. For example, if you use a mod that runs a script every 5 seconds it could potentially introduce script lag. LE's engine can only process so much. To a lesser extent, the same applies to SSE. 

 

Whenever I start a new game, I take consideration to the must have mods. There's not many of them for me. Everything else I install are mods that I'd like to use, but can live without at the same time. Think of it as a balancing act.

 

One application I use to get better performance is a tool called Wise Game Booster. What it does is shut down Windows processes that aren't needed when gaming. When I run this tool before loading a game, I end up gaining around 1gb of system RAM.
