Alright, First up, I'm not very good at modding, but I have an idea I would like someone to help with.
My idea is an alternate start where, instead of being in prison and then released, You are in that cage with the rats in the cave where you meet that group of goblins.
You know the one, it has the Goblin Shaman and that big pit with the cage and bonfire? Anyways so you're the cage with or without the rats, and after maybe getting used to the controls, and talking with a goblin? some Blades come in and kill all of the goblins in a cool battle scene. Then they release you and you search a chest where the goblins stored your stuff after they captured you.
(It would be the usual Iron/Leather armour and a coupleof weapons) And then you would continue on the normal storyline from there on.

Anyway, if anyone could help out, cheers!

You do know there are load of other Alternative Starts out there already right?

 

Most people either use Alternative Start Arrive by ship or go vanilla.

 

Not that I am trying to burst your bubble or anything but I think you will end up putting loads of time into something no one is going to use.

 

However that being said it would be possible to do, the main thing is that you have to get the events to trigger correctly. First off we will need to get you familiar with the Creation Kit.

 

Read these tutorials while I go and fiddle with trying to get a proof of concept of this working.

I like the idea of a start as a slave option. Perhaps an amendment on the ship start could be the way to go for ease. That way you have a working mod to refer to. Amend it so you go through the initial tutorial bits as a slave on the ship ending in the player having to escape and start their adventuring career with what little they can scavenge on the way out. Not very good at modding myself, so having a working reference has been a must for me. :)

 

Or just open that mod up and see how they did the alternative start coding. Transplant that to your mod idea. Probably easier to go for your own little goblin cave somewhere, rather than playing with the vanilla start.

Thanks for the feedback, I like the sound of the ship-slave-dealy! But like I said, I'm fairly new to modding so unless anyone has a good tutorial for me, than I'll need someone else's help :)
Also, while the ship is good and all, I just really wanted something oriented around the goblin cave. Oh well, maybe when I'm better at modding, hey?
