One piece body armor bug

Hello, i am not so good with modding, so i could use some help.

Recently i reinstalled the game put my usual mods , but when i tried to  give some better armor to my follower, she didn't equiped it.
The problem is somewhat specific.She can equip boots, helmet,gloves,pants(the pants under the default armor) etc but the one-piece  body  armor  not.
And all that, only if the armor is custom that i  have downloaded.If the armor is vanilla there is no problem at all.
In simple words, i cannot replace the vanilla one-piece body armor with custom one-piece body armor.(With a better one obviously)
I tried to disable all the mods that are related with armors, even body and skin textures , but in vain.

Can you link the armor and the follower if it is also custom so I can look into that?

It was https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34945 and the follower is Aela, but it's happening with all followers(custom or not) and with all custom one-piece body armor and upper body armor.
I instaled Nether's Follower Framework unequip her default armor.equip a custom one, and after few seconds  a vanilla dress appeared above the custom armor.

I thought this was for LE for some reason which I don't have SE installed. I did check the SE armor mesh and loaded the LE esp and if it is a direct port then it' s not any obvious problem in the armor mod.

 

That vanilla dress is added by default sleep outfit which almost all npc have so it's not just appearing they always have it in inventory and if they don't have another item for the body slot that is equipped.

 

The base game follower inventory system should have been able to use the custom armor and installing another follower framework mod probably can't fix this bug until the save is cleaned up, that is assuming the issue is actually resolved by that new mod but you have to test in new game to see.

Otherwise you may need to examing your esp load in xedit and see if you have some mod in there that has made changes to vanilla follower quest/dialogue or browse the folders if there was some script overwrites.

 

When you have edited vanilla npc's that can also cause some odd behaviors with custom armor equip but since you are having it with all npcs I would look at an issue with load order or dirty edits or some mod you have making changes where it shouldn't have.

Yeah i tried a new game from clean save and the problem remains, so propably some mod causing it.I will disable all mods exept 5 test and add 5-6 at the time, to pinpoint what mod causing the problem.That;s the best solution i can think.

I would start with those, seems like the outfit manager is not for SE but maybe you ported it? Anyway I don' t use any follower mods so I don't know them but those two look to conflict according to the mods descriptions.

I deactivated all mods run FNIS ,tested 5-6 at the time ,until test them all ,with clean save  no problems.Run once more FNIS when i activated all still all ok.Reload  the save i was palying, almost all ok.Lydia not working and some minor problems.I will test again with those two mods you are telling me.Thank you so much for helping me , i  really appreciate it.
