xbluejackx Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I am new to making mods and love the "Unicorn by Holugar". I would love to have the exact one in pink. Pink is my fav color and I even have pink hair in real life. I would love to get some help with this request or even for someone to take me under their wing and walk me through making it pink myself. I can draw very good and love all forms of art and learn fast. I have been a member of the board here for a long time and would love to add something to it. Thanks ahead of time, BlueJ
Avantyr Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 try using a bsa unpacker to get the texture for the unicorn and make it pink using photoshop with the dds(nvidia) plugin, or gimp...then you just place the textures in the right folder and the game loads those automatically. Try googling a bit.
xbluejackx Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Here is an image of my first try, I need to read more tips and much more practice.
xbluejackx Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 I am not sure you are being serious or not, but that is an awesome idea! =^-^=
xbluejackx Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Can someone help me understand how to work with textures that have a transparent background? I have opened a dds texture image and it seems there is a trick to save the dds image with the trans backgound. I have backed up my work as a gif, but I would like some help with the conversion of the gif with trans background back to a dds. Any tips or ideas? Thanks, BlueJ
ghostmist17 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Um... YES please! My two cents says it should be a lighter softer pink with an almost white mane - but, can I have a copy when its done??? This is so me (whatever pink it ends up being)!
xbluejackx Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 So I made the Unicorn more cute. It is a softer pink with a white mane with pink highlights. I made the horn and hoofs rainbow. I would like to thank Holugar again for all his work on the original. I would like to talk to someone with experience publishing mods. I want to know the proper way its done. I don't want to step on any toes/hoofs sharing this mod before I know I am not breaking any rules.
Sunspot2 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 If your mod is just a texture mod, you just talk with the author of the original texture saying something like this: "Hello, I modified your textures from mod XXXX and would like to share this with others. Would you give me permission to use it in my mod?" Then don't forget to credit and thank the original authors in your mod description and readme. That's it.
Avantyr Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 You should then just remember to name, thank and add a link for the main mod on the description. Also make sure you say it's a retexture on the title. Take this as an example:http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22607/
