Character model disappears in third person mode... sometimes

So... this is weird. My character model completely disappears if I zoom out from first person to third person. The thing is though, sometimes, after a few seconds, it shows up. Most often though, it doesn't. However, if I enter a building (or generally, just move in any way that requires a loading screen) while in 3rd person, after the loading screen the character shows up, no issues at all. If then I zoom in, spend like half a minute in first person and zoom out, the character model is completely gone again. If I got to first person, and IMMEDIATELY zoom out to third person, the character model stays, no issues. 

At first I thought it's a racemenu issue, but since the model actually is there and shows up sometimes, this seems unlikely....

Anyone ever came across anything like this?
