Ember33 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I really adore the backpack in the smp bdor pabilla outfit by team tal that was posted here at loverslab but I'm not very big on the purple box or incredibly bright green goo in the large potion on it so I set out to learn how to remove parts of meshes. I started a new projects in outfit studio, imported the backpacks nif, turned off mirror and then very carefully masked the vertices of the parts I didn't want. After this I separated them in to their own mesh and deleted them. Then I exported it back and overwrited the old nif. This looks fine in outfit studio but in game anything that was part of the mesh I cut a piece off of also disappeared or became invisible I guess in game. For example one mesh is just the cube, but there is another mesh that is the gold corners on the cube plus the candle, book, and scrolls. Despite only masking the gold corners and then separating and deleting that all of the other objects aren't showing up on the backpack in game. Have I missed a step here? This is my first time trying something like this and I'm at a bit of a loss.
Tlam99 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 I am a novice here, too. But delete means, you take it out of the world. Separate and hide with a zap slider, not delete. Would be my guess.
Ember33 Posted February 8, 2021 Author Posted February 8, 2021 I've never used a zap slider before I'll look up how and try that! Ty for the idea.
