Alien Fempire Mod

So I was sent here from reddit. I am trying to make a custom fempire alien species for my stellaris game. I have the dds images but I have no idea how to edit them into the game. I also have no idea how to animate them, although at this point if I can just get the images into the game I'd be happy; although, if someone knows how to do it that's be awesome! Can anyone help? I can upload the images her if that's what someone needs to work with
