How to convert .mesh & .mesh ascii files to a usable format?

Is this the same as XNA? There is an obj export on the menu for it but it will have no bones or skinning. There's no exporter because the guy who wrote XNA Studio doesn't want people poking around his format, so you'll have to reweight everything and make a skeleton if its a skinned mesh. If its an older model for XNA Lara before 2011 I think there's a maxscript floating around with a video on Youtube.
