Meshes edited in 3ds max 2018 is invisible in game.

Learning to mess with meshes right now and for practice, I tried to edit one of the tails in this mod in 3ds max 2018 to be 3 tails instead of one tail. After duplicating the mesh by copy/pasting (duplicate) it and just translating it to the right and left to be the 2nd and 3rd tail, I export it as a .nif directly and .obj(read 3ds exporting to .nif directly won'twork sometimes) to then be converted in bodyslide (also tried to do in nifskope) but both time the mesh is just invisible. And when I exported as .obj from 3ds then to .nif with bodyslide/nifskope, it just made my entire character invisible. So what am I doing wrong? I googled around before this but didn't find anything useful.
