Polygone-like pattern on body texture

I have a very weird pattern on the skin of my characters (see attachment)

It looks like polygones/vertical stripes.

Can I fix this with ini tweaking? would be awesome ;-)

Looks like a compressed normal map to me.

 

find/create a uncompressed one to fix..

I've seen that before too. What settings in photoshop dds plugin do you use to get rid of the compression?

If you don't have an alpha present.
