Baconsama Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I started using GIMP2 to edit dds files,it went normal as long as I didn't any compression, but when I used the BC4/ATI1 the textures were all purple in-game,of course I want to compress them to make the game faster but also be able to see them with a nice quality,so any hints about which compression and/or format to use when exporting .dds files in blender? Thanks. This is the dll that allows GIMP2 to use dds files: http://registry.gimp.org/node/70 Important note: GIMP2 is FREE,don't buy it by any chance!Download in the official site always.
Slammer64 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 If I remember right from the Oblivion wiki you need to choose DXT1 to avoid any problems like you were describing. Check this article, it may help: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/GIMP:Retexturing_Oblivion#Part_02:_Retexturing_in_GIMP
