[Question] Companion Model from a mod into Player Model/Preset?

Well, I've been sitting here all day trying to figure this out, looking up guides, etc.

Basically, I have a mod and I like the companion model on it/face, and I was wondering if there's anyway for me to take the model/face from the companion and place it on my own Skyrim character.

Step-by-step instructions would be nice,
Thank you for your time and effort!

Happily - yes, there is a very easy way! Here's a re-post:

Hey Rearshot! Sorry - I did notice this one earlier, but I forgot to come back to it! ;)

Making presets is easy, quick, and fun! It's a great task for beginners! Here's an excellent, beginner-friendly tutorial on how to do this with the CK:

"J-U-I-C-E HubPages Skyrim Tutorial - How to Make Your Skyrim Character Look Like Any Character in The Game!"

Now, there's a couple of things to remember (I just did this last night myself to make an .NPC file backup for a custom follower I'm working on, so it's nice & fresh!)...

 - When you load up your "Data", load up the .esp plugin for the follower mod you're getting the face from, but DON'T set it as an active file! Save your work as a new plugin. This will avoid dirtying the original follower mod.

 - Before you load the CK, go to ...\Skyrim\Data\Textures\actors\character\character assets and *TEMPORARILY* remove the "tintmasks" folder (copy it to the desktop as a backup while you work, just in case!). The CK does not handle all modded tintmasks (ie: makeup, warpaint, etc.) very well. Temporarily removing this folder will avoid a number of CK-related texture bugs like strangely-coloured foreheads, sqiggly coloured lines around the temples, etc.

Good Luck, and feel free to follow-up with any additional queries!  :)

That tutorial seems to only cover npcs that are in the vanilla game. Is there any way to create a preset from a follower mod?

This is the mod I was looking at:

(*I happened to be taking a quick look in here, & by chance saw this)

You should be able to do it if you first open the follower mod .esp you want to use in the CK, find the follower in the "Actors" list, open them up, and tick the "is CharGen Face Preset" box, save & close, open NMM & make sure the .esp is ticked in the plugins list, then load up your game & the preset should appear in the presets list in "showracemenu". Then use THAT face to make your .NPC file using the spf command as shown in the tutorial. :)

I cannot guarantee that this will work for you, but it's worth a try. Do bear in mind that if you want an end product that "looks EXACTLY LIKE THOSE PICS" etc., you would need to use the same textures, mesh mods, game settings etc. (to be honest, I really do recommend taking the time to craft your own follower faces & characters - it's less fuss, & you'll be happier with the result). ;)

Should be achievable through TESVEdit or what ever its called. I did this and do this for Fallout 3. If there is a face ripper type of tool it would make it a bit easier. This isn't 100% accurate though as I've had to use a different method to clone a NPCs face to a plugin of mine. I was actually going to do this for Skyrim in the near future, but until I can manage to get Skyrim to even work properly with patches and such, I have no desire.
